With no disrespect to Fergie, I really thought Ann and Nancy should have done the song alone. It's an evergreen classic, for God's sake! Even kids know it.
There is still no better singer on Earth than Ann Wilson. No one can sing her stuff. Celine? I had the misfortune of seeing her butcher "Alone" on tv a few months back and I'm still queesy. Even Whitney Houston in her prime would be lost trying to sing something like "Devil Delight" or "The Night". Seriously, no one touches Ann!!!
Not only should they have done the song without Fergie, they should have worked something out to have the whole Heart family on stage instead of Ann and Nancy having to suffer through performing with the house band. As Crush said, the song is a classic. If you're a real musician, you should be able to play a classic the way it's meant to be played...not botch it as this house band did. The drummer lost count 4 times throughout the song. Most house bands usually have a musical director...and it's normally the bass player or a keyboard player. It's that person's responsibility to keep the band on count. That didn't happen. I applaud Ann and Nancy for doing a fantastic job and stealing the show...considering what they were working with. Makes me appreciate Heart as a band more and more. Honestly, I would have preferred to have heard Ann and Nancy play and sing by themselves...no Fergie, no house band...that would have been awesome to hear.
Heart Rules!
This has NOTHING to do with Fergie, it has to do with the song barracuda played at the republic convention..... GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!I have always liked your music....But I will NEVER listen to you music again!!

I want to marry Nancy!! She's gorgeous and watching play guitar is the best! Please tour England again! x
